Prof. Dr. Daniel Hering unterrichtet Ökologie, Limnologie und Zoologie für die Studiengänge Aquatische Biologie, Biologie, Transnational Water Management und Lehramt Biologie an der Universität Duisburg Essen. Er ist außerdem Leiter des MERLIN-Projekts (Mainstreaming Ecological Restoration of freshwater-related ecosystems in a Landscape context: INnovation, upscaling and transformation), welches u.a. Publikationen, Podcasts und Webinare zum Thema Freshwater, also Süßwasser, herausgibt.
